Groups To Join For Luxury Homes

Let’s talk about meeting the affluent people in your market. There are certain groups and organizations that attract wealthy members: art associations, historic groups, theater groups, conservation groups, hospital organizations to name just a few. So how do we find, select and join the right groups and organizations to interact with wealthy people in our marketplace?

1. Identify the wealthy people in your market with specific names. Do some investigation and identify the cause’s do they support, the groups and boards do they belong to and what events will they be attending soon.

2. Make a list of these groups, organizations and charities. Typically, they are in the arts, theater, historical groups, conservation groups and even literary groups. Start thinking about which group or organization you might like to join and become a part of.

3. Expand your research to how often the groups meet as well as how they meet? Do they meet in your market area or remotely? A group that meets electronically will not offer opportunity for direct interaction. Look for groups that at least meet quarterly and ideally, on a monthly basis. Otherwise you are going to have limited opportunity for interacting with people in the high-end.

4. Ask this important question: is this group or organization recognizable? Do people sound impressed when you mention the name of this group?

5. This strategy is not going to work if you are not seriously committed to the group. Indeed, it is way too much work to join a group, board or organization and then fake your commitment. Trust me, the people who are involved will see through this. You risk doing a poor job and making a poor impression, the exact opposite of your goal.

6. Make sure you afford to be a member of this group or organization. When I say afford it, I mean both in terms of time and money. How much work is involved between the meetings, and more importantly, is there a cost involved. Many groups have yearly fees or dues and often expect BIG donations from board members to set the example for the rest of the membership. There is nothing wrong with that, just make sure you are comfortable with the level of contribution that will be expected.

In conclusion, when you are looking at groups to join, be real, be true to yourself, bring value to the group, believe in what you are doing, and the work of the group that you are joining.
