How Storms Can Be Value-Adds for Clients in Luxury Real Estate

Posted by on Feb 3, 2015 | No Comments

One of the great things about living on Cape Cod is that our winters tend to be a bit milder than you find even just a few miles to the north. This year is the exception though:

  • 30” of snow
  • Hurricane force winds
  • No place to put all the snow

This is the reality and also what is being reported in the news. While this is not great for the actual selling of homes here on the Cape, it does present a great opportunity to bring value to my sellers and even past buyers.

In this week’s video, I will talk about the email I sent which said:

You may have heard that a major storm is predicted for this week. If you have not already done so, I can go over tomorrow and shut off the main water valve. Should we lose power for an extended period this will prevent damage. Further, if you would like, I can crank the thermostats to 72 or so tomorrow so that any heat loss starts from a higher level. I will only do this if you give the go ahead and of course will turn it back down once the storm is over.

Thanks. Will send photos as soon as possible after the storm.

Jack

ALL appreciated this extra care since most of my sellers are absent at this time of the year. I followed up after the storm with an email and photo.

Don’t waste a storm!

How do you turn situations like this into an opportunity to add value for your clients. Enjoy this week’s video then share in the comments below.
